Can I Have Breast Augmentation Surgery When Overweight?
I really want to get breast augmentation surgery soon but I haven’t scheduled a consultation with a doctor partially because I am not sure if it’s possible. I have done a lot of research on the internet about the surgery but I haven’t seen anything about being overweight or any kind of limitations. Do you know if it’s possible?
Our Answer:
Annie…I know you aren’t going to want to hear this but you will have to consult your doctor because it really depends on many factors including your current weight, your frame size and you general overall health. You did not include any of that information with your question so it’s almost impossible for us to give you a correct answer that is appropriate for you.
We can say that overweight women get implant surgery all the time but it will depend on HOW overweight you are and if you are in good enough health to undergo surgery and anesthesia. We would encourage you to consult a local physician as soon as possible to determine whether you are a good candidate for surgery or not.
Good Luck.

In my opinion if your body mass is high enough then you shouldn’t waste your money on breast implants and you would be better erved to spend your money on changing your waist size and therefore your overall health. If you lose enough fat then you might not need to have implants. Of course this all depends on how overweight you are.
Like they said above, it kind of depends on your actual weight and height or maybe BMI would be a better indicator. I would suspect that if you are morbidly obese then any ethical surgeons would not perform this surgery as there are too many risks involved. Find a doctor that you are comfortable with and then go see them.
Good Luck.
Every woman is different and like everyone has said, you will need to go see your doctor. There are so many variables as to whether you are a candidate for surgery that it’s not even funny and the only one that can tell you…is your doctor.
